Our Summer Pet

Let me explain why they are so sad. The girls have wanted a hamster for a long time. They worked really hard at listening better, cleaning their rooms and completing their jobs without complaining. During one family night we decided to pick up our new friend. The hamster was a white and brown and so his name quickly became Carmel. He actually was really cute(as long as he stayed in his cage). Adam said that he didn't mind taking care of him so I lovingly gave him that responsibility. Well to make a long story short, we soon found out that Adam was allergic to Carmel and to the shavings that helped make the cage smell and stay clean. Believe it or not no one else wanted Adam's job of taking care of Carmel. So on one sad summers night Carmel was returned with a lot of tears. There is a silver lining, we left with more money in our pocket because of the 15 day return policy.

This summer we have spent many days at the park, in the pool and going to the movies. The girls have had many friends sleepover and have had fun with our fun Fridays ( every Friday we have time to play games, watch movies and make yummy treats).

In July we had to endure termite tenting. So we were busy packing, unpacking and cleaning clothes, dishes, walls and carpets. Our friend Mark let us stay at his house, the girls practically lived in the pool and hot tub. One day I kept track of how often they went swimming, 5 hours I didn't have the energy to keep up with that pace. They have become excellent swimmers this summer.

Don't Eat Me!!!

We went to the Birch Aquarium, it was fun seeing all types of fish, the octopus, Jellyfish and seahorses were amazing. Adam and the girls had a fun time touching the starfish and hermit crabs in the tide pool. It was a fun Memorial Day, when we arrived home we had a picnic in the park and later went swimming. What a fun memory, I hope we will always remember the time we spend together.

My Purple Belt

In order for Mckenzie to obtain her purple belt, she had to attend her classes and practice many times a week. Because of her dedication she received her purple belt on May 6, 2008. We are proud of her accomplishment. Way to go! keep up the hard work.

Adam's Birthday Cake

I found pictures of Adam's Birthday in December of 06. We had just returned from Utah and upon arrial Sunday afternoon, I realized that I forgot to buy a cake mix for somebody very special. The girls thought of the most brilliant plan, lets use the easy-bake oven to make as much cake as we can. Well it ended up to be a 3 layer white cake with chocolate frosting and yummy sprinkles on top. We wouldn't let Adam in the kitchen to see our surprize. I think this is the most memorable cake he has ever eaten. The one thing I hope it taught the davis family is, keeping the sabbath day holy pay's off, even if it as simple as a cake made by the girls with a toy oven and lot's love.

Our family pictures were taken at Old Poway Park in October of 2007. When we arrived at the park, I thought all of Poway had the same idea as we did. I asked one of the photographer's why there were so many people there. She told me that everyone here today lost their homes in the wildfires, and they wanted to help replace their pictures that were lost. I will never forget the gesture of love, kindness and service for people they didn't even know. It's amazing what you can learn in an afternoon at the park.
